Lisa Olivia Munn was conceived in Oklahoma City. Kimberly Schmid lived in Vietnam with Chinese origins, and Winston Barrett Munn's family is roots that go back to the American South. Her parents separated when she was just two years old and she was raised by her mother and stepfather, a member of the United States Air Force. The family emigrated to Oklahoma and moved to several places, but she spent the bulk of her life in Tokyo. At the time, she took part in numerous local productions of theater as well as becoming a Japanese Fashion Model. Olivia was a model who moved with her family to Los Angeles in order to fulfil her dream to be an actress was determined to pursue that goal even after her family returned to America. Olivia's career began to take off following a few small parts. The role she landed was that of Mily in the series with a Hawaii lens Beyond the Break (2005) and the receptionist role for Rob Schneider in Big Stan (2006). She hosts G4's podcasts "The Daily Nut" as well as "Formula D". Surfing is her passion, and she practices it since the TV series Beyond the Break (2006). Additionally, she holds a black belt in Taekwondo. When she was two, her mother remarried. This time she married an US Air Force serviceman. Though the family relocating many times throughout her life, she was educated in Tokyo, Japan, where the military stationed her stepfather. She attended at the University of Oklahoma where she was a journalism major with minors of Japanese and dramatic art.
